World Superbikes Returning To Phillip Island

The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit has announced that the 2008 Yamaha Superbike World Championship round will take place from February 29 until March 2.

The event, subject to official ratification by the FIM, will remain as the second round of the championship, and will be the first chance for Aussie enthusiasts to see dual world champion Troy Bayliss aboard Ducati's all-new 1098F08 under the revamped 1200cc rules.

The Superbike World Championship continues to grow and increase its profile worldwide, and is set to welcome new manufacturers and riders into next year's battle.

The three-day event will see practice and qualifying on Friday, February 29; second qualifying on Saturday, March 1, and a packed program of racing on Sunday, March 2.
