World's Most Expensive Bike Hits Oz

The most expensive production motorcycle currently available in the world, the MV Agusta F4 CC

The most expensive production motorcycle currently available in the world, the MV Agusta F4 CC, has landed Down Under – and you better grab that chequebook because there is still a chance to purchase one of these super exotic bikes for yourself.

The 'CC' stands for Claudio Castiglioni, the President of MV Agusta and the man who resurrected the marque from the pages of motorcycle history. First unveiled at the 1997 Milan Show, the F4 has a name that underlines that sense of history too – the 'F' standing for Ferrari, as it was Piero Ferrari, son of Ferrari's founder Enzo, who actually designed the bike's radial valve inline four-cylinder engine.

The F4 CC was itself created to celebrate MV's proud history, a history that goes back to the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s - a period that saw MV's race bikes claim some 18 premier class victories.

Boasting an up-specced 1078cc engine - good for 200bhp and rated to 315km/h - the F4 CC features the best components and technology that money can buy. Each one purchased comes with an exclusive Trussadi leather jacket and a Girard-Perregaux watch, the latter numbered with the bike's production number. The production run will be limited to just 100 machines - one for Claudio Castiglioni, and 99 for the rest of the world.

Aussie MV Agusta importer, Paul Feeney Group, has already secured and sold two F4 CC models, but you still have a chance to purchase one yourself. Oh, and the price? Just a trifling matter of $185,000 - but keep that to yourself when you're explaining it to the other half...
