Triumph Sales Surge

Triumph UK has released details of its sales performance for the 2005/2006 financial year, with the entire Triumph group recording an impressive increase in sales of some 18 per cent.

Approximately 37,400 Triumph motorcycles were sold around the world through this period, up from 31,600 motorcycles for the corresponding period before. However, operating profit before interest and tax remained largely unchanged at some $A25.5m – which Triumph says simply reflects the extra investment it made during the year to increase its production capacity.

Triumph UK's Commercial Director, Tue Mantoni, said the figures underlined Triumph's bright future. "Our consistent growth over the last few years has given us a strong business platform and we have expanded our production capacity in the last year to meet the increased demand for Triumph motorcycles," he said.

"We will also continue to invest strongly in R&D to bring out more exciting new bikes in the future," he added.

With the glowing reviews of recently released models such as the Daytona 675, the Scrambler and the new Tiger, that immediate future looks assured.
