Successful Sydney test for Scott

InsureMyRide Successful Sydney test for Glenn Scott

Glenn Scott has recorded a positive test in the lead up to the next round of the Australian Superbike Championship, which will be run as a two round event over four days at Glenn’s home track, Sydney Motorsport Park.

Team InsureMyRide Racing currently lead the privateers rankings in the Australian Superbike Championship, and the strong times delivered on the Tuesday test have instilled plenty of confidence in Glenn leading into the event.

“The test day was very successful for Team InsureMyRide Racing; Sydney Motorsport Park is an exciting circuit to ride and is full of many fast flowing turns. It was great to have the test to get our setup right before next week,” Scott said.

With an intensive schedule over the four days, the team have placed a large amount of focus on not just on-track preparation, but off-track proficiency to maintain Glenn’s position in the championship.

“It was great to have all members of Team InsureMyRide Racing attend the test day; it was a good opportunity to have a race simulation both on track and in the pits.

“We had several things to test on the InsureMyRide fire blade, we made very positive steps forward with a new rear shock and gained important information with our Dunlop tyres,” Scott added.

After a strong performance in testing in Queensland, Team InsureMyRide Racing had Bernie Hatton from Top Rider attend the Sydney test on Tuesday, and it was another opportunity for Glenn to gain a wealth of experience from Bernie in the build-up to the next event.

“Bernie was brilliant in assisting with set up, tyre development and most importantly to help me understand Sydney Motorsport Park and get the fire blade around there fast. Riding the Superbike is no easy task and having the rider knowledge of Bernie there to help me is fantastic, we really made some impressive steps forward and the lap times started to drop.

“I have to thank my whole team, staff and sponsors for a fantastic day. I feel very confident in all areas of the team for next week’s double header round. We are leading the privateer championship and the team will be working hard to defend that position,” Scott concluded.

Round four and five of the Australian Superbike Championship takes place at Sydney Motorsport Park from 1-4 August.
