IMR Racing Glenn Scott set for top end racing

Team InsureMyRide Racing’s Glenn Scott will endure the hottest weather on the Australian Superbike Championship calendar this weekend as the series heads to the top end at Darwin’s Hidden Valley raceway, as Glenn looks to back up from his blistering performance last time out at Sydney Motorsport Park.

It’s been an intense break since Sydney for Glenn and the team, with preparation both on and off-track ensuring the 21 year old will be ready for the challenges that the event will present to him both physically and mechanically.

“Team IMR have been really busy in this month between races. With an engine rebuild taking place on one of the bike and large amounts of organising to get everything to Darwin the whole team is so excited to get track side.”

“This period between Sydney Motorsport Park and Darwin has been my toughest training schedule to date. I have been working extremely hard on my fitness to help battle the heat and humidity at Hidden Valley Raceway. My training schedule put together by Stephen Mion consisted of cycle time trials, core strength and leg work.”

“My fitness has never been better and I'm feeling confident in myself and the whole team moving in to round six after our podium at round five and the hard work in preparation we have put into me, the bikes and the team,” Scott said.

Glenn is no stranger to the Hidden Valley track, one that features a notoriously long one kilometre front straight aswell as a combination of tight hairpins and fast flowing banked sweeping turns which will encapsulate the true extremes of the Superbike.

“I have been to Darwin the last two years on the 600; I can't wait to get there on there on my fireblade. It will take some time to learn the track again but I’m sure we will find our feet fast. Every team only gets there once a year so it's a nice level playing field for everyone,” Scott added.

The off-track moral at Team InsureMyRide Racing is one asset that Glenn believes greatly boosts his chances against his opposition, and this in conjunction with the hard working team have the Central Coast young gun in line for some good results in the weekend’s events.

“Darwin is an awesome place, I love going there every year. Most my team haven't been so it will be a cool experience for the whole group. I can't wait to get on the bike but also to spend a weekend with the team, we always have a good laugh which sets the scene for good results,” Scott concluded.

Round six of the Australian Superbike Championship takes place at Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, NT from September 13-15.
