Scott out to stamp authority in Sydney

Team InsureMyRide Racing’s Glenn Scott will look to use a home track advantage next weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park as a chance to stamp his authority on the ultra-competitive Australian Superbike Championship, a series he currently leads the Privateers rankings in.

After a successful test day that saw the team move ahead in their development, Glenn will be looking to continue his good run of results in the series to date on the fast Sydney circuit.

“I am really excited for the double round at Sydney Motorsport Park, after a successful test and the team as a whole always improving I am feeling confident heading into my home event.

“Sydney is an important round for the Championship so I will certainly be going out to make a point with our results in the Superbike field, but ride smartly as there are a lot of points up for grabs this weekend,” Scott said.

With the pressure of leading the privateer’s rankings and sitting sixth outright in the Australian Superbike Championship, Glenn’s local event will bring with it some extra incentive to perform.

“Being a home round does add a little more pressure to perform, but it’s a great feeling knowing all my friends, family and sponsors can come watch me ride and meet the whole InsureMyRide Racing team. The team is all geared up and ready to go, the boys can’t wait to get the track and kick the weekend off and either can I,” Scott added.

The Sydney layout presents a variety of corners, from the notoriously fast turn one, to the slowest points on the track at the hairpins; it will ensure Glenn is on his game at every moment.

“It’s certainly very fun but physical circuit; I am feeling confident in my months of fitness leading up to the round that I am in good condition to perform at 100 percent whenever I’m on the bike over the weekend.

“Make sure you get down to Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend and come say Hi and meet everyone at Team InsureMyRide Racing in garage two,” Scott concluded.

Round four and five of the Australian Superbike Championship takes place at Sydney Motorsport Park from 1-4 August.
