Revised Yamaha XJR1300 Arrives

The latest version of Yamaha’s grunty XJR1300 motorcycle

The latest version of Yamaha's grunty XJR1300 musclebike has landed, and despite sharing a similar overall look to the 2006 model, it features a raft of improvements and revisions.

For starters, the 1251cc inline four-cylinder engine – famous for its silky smooth waves of torque – now boasts the benefits of electronic fuel injection, along with a revised intake camshaft and revised valve lift characteristics. Backed up a new 4-2-1 exhaust system, the new XJR's power delivery is even better, while its peak torque is delivered some 500rpm lower than the 2006 model, at 6000rpm.

The front suspension has been revised to further limit front-end dive under brakes, while the rear shocks are still the top quality Ohlins units that have graced the model for a number of years.

Also new for 2007 is the XJR's seat, dual circular LED tail lights, clear indicator lenses, redesigned side covers, oval mirrors and, for extra piece of mind, an immobiliser.

On top of all that, Yamaha has managed to not just keep the XJR's price static, but it's actually shaved a further $700 from the 2006 model's price tag, sending 2007 models out the door at a compelling $13,999 plus ORC. For more information see your nearest Yamaha dealer, or visit:
