Just a few short weeks' ago Glenn Scott and his family featured on the popular ABC program 'Australian Story'. This week, Glenn has secured his first high profile sponsorship deal and now has his sights firmly set on winning the Australian Formula Xtreme Championship title. Thanks to specialist motorbike insurer, InsureMyRide, the determined 18 year old from northern New South Wales now has his dream of racing for a championship title brought a little closer to reality.

In announcing the sponsorship deal InsureMyRide's Executive Manager Andrew O'Hara said "Glenn is a perfect fit for our brand. He is young, focused and has lived and breathed bikes all his life. He has a great support network and his level of commitment to attaining his dream of a World Championship is exceptional".

Glenn has spent nearly all of his life 'on the bike'.  Given his first motorbike, a LEM 50cc by his parents when he was only five years-old and winning his first Australian Championship just a year later, Glenn hasn't been off a bike since. This week he will be one of the first rider's in Australia to race the all new BMW S1000 RR – arguably the most powerful 1000cc production bike on the market – when he rides out at Wakefield Park, New South Wales on 28th March.

After seeing Glenn and his family featured on the ABC show, Executive Marketing Manager for InsureMyRide, Mark Behr contacted Glenn's brother, Greg to discuss the possibility of helping the young racing enthusiast. "It's not often that you come across such a committed and strong team" said Mark, "this is a family unit that has stuck together through some very emotional and difficult times, and the level of passion that they have for all things 'motorbike' seemed like an obvious opportunity for both Glenn and InsureMyRide".

Glenn lost his parents, Denise and Dennis in a motorcycle accident when he was only 12 years old and was raised by his older brother and sister, Greg and Candice. Supporting him in his dream of winning a world championship, Greg and Candice have sacrificed more than would be expected by any brother or sister in order to help their younger brother achieve success.

"I'm looking forward to the start of this year's racing season", said Glenn. "It's a very exciting time for me and with sponsors such as InsureMyRide showing their interest and support and the fantastic new BMW S1000RR ready to go, I'm now eagerly looking forward to the challenges ahead".

The sponsorship deal with InsureMyRide is for an initial period of 12 months.
