Troy Lee Designs – Maxima Zero Seven Motorsports riders Kade Mosig and Cody Mackie proved to be a competitive force on their all new Kawasaki machinery in the 2013 MX Nationals Championship, following solid results in Round One at Raymond Terrace NSW, finishing 5th and 11th overall respectively.

Campaigning in the MX2 (250cc) class, Mosig started the weekend with blistering pace, trading positions as the fastest qualifier throughout the morning qualifying session before securing third position in the 40 strong field.

In Moto 1; the first of two 30-minute races, a first lap fall meant Mosig had to put all of his pre season training to the test, charging through the field from 26th at the end of the first lap, to finish impressively in 8th position.

Mosig got off to a good start in Moto 2, sitting in fourth position early before riding strong and mistake free to move into third position, where he would finish on what was a rough and grueling Raymond Terrace circuit.

Whilst race wins are without doubt a focus, Mosig is taking the positives from Round One into the next round in Murray Bridge, South Australia on April 28.

“I definitely know my fitness is there and the bike setup is really good, I just have to get a good start and stay clean during racing.”

MX1 (450cc) class representative Cody Mackie, made his MX Nationals comeback after being absent for the 2012 season. The 28 year old from Kiama in NSW exceeded expectations by running with some of the biggest names in the sport placing 7th in Moto 1.

After suffering a first lap fall in Moto 2, Mackie recovered to finish 13th in arguably what is the most competitive MX Nationals field for many years, finishing 11th overall for his efforts.

“I gained a lot of positives out of today - the class is stacked this year, so its going to take a good start and consistent laps.”

Round Two of the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals will be held in Murray Bridge, SA on April 28.

Zero Seven Motorsports also announced last week that their all new web series called ‘Moto Life’ will follow the riders throughout their 2013 MX Nationals’ campaign, as well as provide insight into life in professional motocross.
