TLD Maxima-Zero Seven Motorsports riders’ Kade Mosig and Cody Mackie continued their run of strong performances in the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals Championship, finishing 3rd and 10th in their respective MX2 and MX1 classes in Hervey Bay, Queensland on Sunday.

Mosig, who sat out rounds four and five thanks to a fractured vertebrae he sustained at the Wonthaggi round (VIC), returned to competition in blistering form and has not been off the podium since.

Despite the Hervey Bay circuit being notoriously rough and technical, he was able to card a comfortable 2nd in Moto 1. In Moto 2, he led in the early stages, however small mistakes cost him the opportunity for his first win of the season. Once again, his consistency resulted in another 3rd place overall for the second round in a row aboard his Kawasaki KXF250.

“It was a tough day for me out there. I’m nursing a bit of a knee injury at the moment; it is especially difficult in deep ruts.

It was cool to lead the race in Moto 2, but unfortunately there were some incidents and yellow flags on the track that ruined my rhythm, but still it was a step in the right direction” claimed Mosig.

MX1 class competitor Cody Mackie continued his run of top ten results, placing in 9th and 11th in his respective Motos and 10th overall for the round.

“After Appin I went home to work hard on my starts and whilst they were a little better this week, I don't feel like I capitalised on them enough. My first couple of laps kind of let me down in each Moto and set the tone for the rest of the race. I’m looking for more in Swan Hill,” said Cody.

With a weekend break prior to round 8, Mackie has travelled to Western Australia to compete in this weekend’s ‘King of the Cross’ event in Southern Cross.

“The King of the Cross event is an iconic motocross race in Western Australia. Any opportunity for me to build on my speed and fitness is great for me and I always enjoy competing in WA” Mackie said.
