Kade Mosig will be forced to sit out the remaining three rounds of the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals Championship due to a knee injury.

The TLD Maxima - Zero Seven Motorsports MX2 class contender had been competing in the the last two rounds with a torn MCL ligament in his right knee and despite suffering immense pain, managed to finish on the podium (3rd overall) in both outings.

Whilst his recent performances have been his best for the year, Mosig and his team made the ultimate decision to sit out the final three MX Nationals rounds, in order to recoup properly in time for a all-out assault on the 2013 Australian Supercross Championship; which kicks off in Darwin on September 14th.

“It’s been a frustrating couple of weeks that’s for sure. I’ve felt awesome on the bike, but my knee has been giving me a lot of grief. I haven’t been able to push as hard as I would like that's for sure" exclaimed Mosig.

"I’m out of contention for the (MX Nationals) Championship, so I’m going to rest up for a couple of weeks so I know I’m 100% ready for Supercross. I want to win it!” said Kade.

Filling in for the injured Mosig, will once again be 21 year-old Queenslander Dylan Peterson. Peterson also substituted for Mosig for rounds four and five, showing podium potential.

“It’s a bummer for Kade that he is injured, especially since he has been riding so well in the past couple of rounds.

I am really excited to get the opportunity to compete in the MX Nationals again. I can’t thank Mark Haughton and the team enough.

I’ve had some really good results at the Toowoomba track and practically grew up racing around Coolum. I’ve done plenty of laps around both, which will definitely help me get back into the swing of things!” claimed Peterson.

Remaining Monster Energy MX Nationals dates/venues:

- Round 8: Swan Hill (VIC) - August 11

- Round 9: Toowoomba (QLD) - August 25

- Round 10: Coolum (QLD) - August 31 - September 1
