The 23rd annual running of the KTM Sunny Corner Trail Bike Rally has been "done and dusted". Held over the weekend of 18-19 September, the event attracted in excess of 700 riders, many of whom had set up camp on the Wednesday prior to the weekend.

Conditions this year were a stark contrast to last year, with dust being on the menu rather than mud. Despite the dusty conditions, injuries were minimal with only 4 riders requiring hospital treatment for various non-threatening fractures. Organizers praised the responsibility and level-headed behavior of participants while negotiating the dusty conditions for 78kms in the morning loop, and 48kms in the afternoon.

Riders and spectators were able to enjoy a large variety of trade stands, promoting, selling & demonstrating their products & services. Alternatively they enjoyed a ride in the Sunny Corner State Forest prior to the official ride on Sunday.

Entrants, family & friends were entertained around the bonfire by live band "Pygs of Men", and an impromptu fireworks display on Saturday night, while the Big Screen played in the background. Catering was provided by the Bathurst Red Tops soccer club.

At the completion of the 2 loops on Sunday afternoon, the prize draw took place, with the two major prizes being a 2010 model KTM 450exc and a KTM50 sx, including 12 months comprehensive insurance with InsureMyRide.

First drawn was the KTM 450 going to Stephen Vella from Sydney, while the lucky winner of the KTM 50sx went to Tony Roxby, also from Sydney.

Heaps of other prizes were also handed out to the riders. There was a large array of gear from tyres, steering dampeners, exhaust systems, helmets, boots and trail tours.
